Workshop
warm up = catch the snap1. try to convey a feeling with a string of random words that don't make sense. Aim of this exercise is to strip words of their meaning and rather than focus on what the words mean just experience purely the auditory elements of the diction or guttural sounds of the language can have on the listener.
2. pick a location (ex. park, friends house, lake) and improvise a scene by starting each sentence with the next letter of the alphabet. (ex. "Andy! Nice to see you. Isn't this view just stunning!" "By jove it is! What a fantastic lake." "Can you believe this place was almost turned into a government project?" Aim of this exercise is to explore the possibilities of improvisation and how random ideas can reveal a pattern and create something bigger.
3. partner A will start the action which partner B will mimic. This will help us understand the significance of meaningful and slow movement like which is often used in ex machina's productions. An emphasis on movement as a medium of communication.
